Butler Co.Cross-Country Teams Compete in Mustang Stampede

Start of the elementary boys 3k

Last Saturday the Butler County Cross-Country team traveled to Greenville to compete in the Mustang Stampede.

The field was loaded with competition to help prepare the team for regional competition in 4 weeks. For the elementary girls 3k, Reece Robbins finished 8th overall and Hannah Johnson finished 9th overall out of over 60 runners. Hailley Daniel and Samantha Henderson also had strong finishes for the team.

Justin Elms was able to finish 8th overall in the boys elementary 3k with a time of 12:22 . Garrison Odle finished the race 11th overall followed by Bryar Beasley (15th), Trey Stovall (21st), Trenton Stovall (26th), Hayden Perry (52nd), Kain Neighbors (55th), Conner Glass (56th), and Bowen Kirby (59th). The boys team was able to clinch 3rd place out of 6 teams.

Hannah Logan, Dalys Bishop, and Connor Brown represented Butler County in the Middle School 4k races and had strong finishes amongst a very tough group of runners.

For the Varsity girls event, Butler County was led by Olivia Neighbors who finished 17th overall with a time of 21:55. Hannah Perry finished 23rd with a time of 22:27 and Maranda Pierson finished 24th with a time of 22:35. Chanda Hampton was able to lock in 26th position with a time of 22:43 and Amy Rogers finished 41st with a time of 25:02. All five varsity girls turned in their best times of the season.
Ethan Jenkins finished 12th out of 98 runners with a time of 17:56 for the Varsity boys 5k and Jacob Mudd finished with a season best time of 24:54.

The Varsity cross-country travels to Yellow Creek Park in Owensboro on Saturday October 13th to compete in the Fast Cats Classic. Good luck to these athletes!
