Butler Co. Fiscal Court Roads, Roads, and more Roads

The Butler County Fiscal Court met in regular session on Monday night at the Butler County Courthouse.  All magistrates were in attendance.
The court approved the following items by a 5-0 vote:

  • Reappointment of Extension District Board members Tammy Alford and Greg Woodcock
  • A check to the Butler County Clerk for $38 for recording fees for deed contracts for Lock 5 Road.
  • Purchase of a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Crew Cab truck from Bob Hook Chevrolet for $28,896 for the Butler County Recycling Center.  Grant money and an in-kind match of 75/25 will be used for purchase.
  • 2nd reading and adoption to remove 1124 feet of Reeds Road from the County Road System.
  • 2nd reading and approval of the Mining City Road into the County Road System.
  • Accept bids for concrete steps for the front of the Courthouse.
  • Butler County Health Department Tax Rate Order
  • Monthly treasurer's report, bills, and transfers.

First District Magistrate Stevie Givens asked for Hidden Valley Drive to be taken into the County Road System. Magistrate Bobby Moore seconded the motion, and the court approved accepting the application. Judge David Fields appointed a committee to review the road and report back to the court.  A public hearing will be held on December 12, 2016, at 4:30 pm for all interested parties.
Fourth District Magistrate David Whittinghill made a motion to request a meeting with the Butler County Ambulance Board on November 28th at 6:00 pm. Second District Magistrate Johnny Tuck seconded the motion which was approved by a 5-0 vote. 
Fifth District Magistrate Bobby Moore thanked Richard Henderson, Fifth District Fire Chief, for all his help in the Home Dept remodel of the Fifth District Fire Department.
Butler County Clerk Sherry Johnson thanked the court and Road Department for their assistance in moving voting machines during the recent election.
