Butler Co. ATC Students Visits UK’s Cadaver Lab

 Ms. Joiners Health Science students

On Thursday, January 16th, Butler Co Health Science students got a chance to visit the University of Kentucky’s Cadaver Lab. The Cadaver lab is located in UK’s Outreach center in Med Center Annex 5.  The outreach Center is designed to enhance the knowledge and learning of Human Anatomy and Physiology as well as to encourage students to study science.
The lab gives students the opportunity to actually see, feel and hold human organs and various body parts. It allows the students to fully understand the anatomy of the organ and how it functions.
Each of the 38 students, who attended, received one on one time with Dr. Frasier and his assistant, Miss Stevens, tour coordinator. Dr. Frasier is a retired well known physiologist and does presentations weekly with students across the state on his own time. This field trip was a rare and unique opportunity that most will never get to experience. Ms. Joiner and her class would like to thank the parent chaperones; Christie Tomes and Misty Skipworth as well as, the UK Outreach center for their time.  They encourage all health science related programs to attend.  There is no better learning; than hands on!

Students L to R: Cassie Bratcher, Hannah Davis, Kendall Cardwell & Krystal Neal. Each holding Animal Lungs
