Busy December moves Lady Bears to 6-3 record on the season

The Butler County Lady Bears' basketball team has spent a lot of time of the court the first half of December en route to a 6-3 record so far this season.  Butler County reeled off three consecutive wins early in the month with a 57-54 decision at Todd County Central (December 5), a 45-31 win at Warren East (December 6), and a 41-28 victory over Thomas Nelson (December 10).  The Lady Bears fell 72-41 at home to Greenwood on December 12; lost 41-35 at Warren Central; and picked up a lopsided 59-29 win at Ohio County on December 16.

Chloe Flener and Addison Hall chipped in 15 points each in the Lady Bears' victory over Todd County Central.  The game was close throughout and the Lady Bears actually trailed at halftime, 33-31.  A strong third quarter gave Butler County a 45-42 third quarter advantage.    

Butler County made 36 two-point goals, nine 3-pointers, and was 12 for 22 from the free throw line.

Butler County jumped ahead early and never looked back against Warren East. Leading 31-19 after three quarters, the Lady Bears cruised to a 14-point win.  

Chloe Flener led Butler County in scoring with 10 points.

The Lady Bears hit 28 two-point goals, 9 three-pointers, and were 8 for 15 from the free throw line.

A dominant first half scoring advantage proved to be enough for the Lady Bears as they took a 21-10 halftime lead over Thomas Nelson and rolled to a 41-28 win.

Butler County had two players in double figures - Chloe Flener leading the way with 15 points and Allie Easley with 10 points.  

The Lady Bears recored 28 two-point field goals, three 3-pointers, and were 4 for 9 from the free throw line.

Butler County ran into a scoring buzz saw on December 12 at home against Greenwood High School.  The Lady Gators scored 20-plus points in two of the four quarters on their way to a 72-41 win.

The Lady Bears placed two players in double figures - Maddy Murphy with 14 points and Chloe Flener with 10 points.  

Butler County had 26 two-point baskets and were 15 for 26 from the free throw line but had no three-point goals.

The Lady Bears dropped a tight game on December 13 at Warren Central, 41-35.  All four quarters were competitive but key free throws down the stretch gave the Lady Dragons the hard-fought victory.

Chloe Flener led the Lady Bears in scoring with 14 points.

Butler County hit 12 two-point goals, three 3-pointers, and were 2 for 3 from the free throw line.

The Lady Bears turned in a strong performance on Friday night with a 30-point win over border rival Ohio County.  Leading 18-4 at the end of the first quarter, Butler held a dominant 30-9 halftime advantage as they roared to victory over the Lady Eagles. 
Chloe Flener led the Lady Bears in scoring with 17 points and Maddy Murphy added 12 points.

Butler County hit 21 two-point goals, two 3-point baskets, and were 11 for 19 from the free throw line.

Butler County will return to action on Monday, December 19, in the Lady Marshal Holiday Classic at Marshall County.  The Lady Bears play Shelbyville Central (TN) at 3 p.m. on Monday and will play one game on Tuesday and one on Wednesday.  Game times and opponents will be posted as soon as that information is released.
