Burglary and Accidents

The Butler County Sheriff’s office is investigating a burglary at 3469 Silver City Huntsville Road.  On Sunday, November 29, Deputy Trey Flener responded to a call at the home of Donald Grise.  Four air rifles and a barrel from a double barrel shotgun had been stolen.  The incident was reported at 2:30pm.  The investigation is ongoing, if you have any information concerning this burglary please contact the sheriff’s office at 270 526-3676.
Two separate accidents occurred on Monday, November 30, within an hour of each other on Rochester Road. 
The first accident occurred at approximately 11:24am around the 3000 block of Rochester Road.  Melissa D. Mears, 21, of 4710 Rochester Road, was driving a 2001 Pontiac Grand AM, traveling west on Rochester Road.  She stated while traveling around a curve she met another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction that was on her side of the roadway.  Mears stated she was forced to travel off the roadway to avoid a collision.  Her vehicle traveled of the north side of the roadway striking a tree with the passenger side of the vehicle.  The vehicle then traveled approximately 26 feet before striking another tree with the front of the vehicle before coming to a final rest off the north side of the roadway, facing north approximately 12 feet from the roadway.  Mears was transported by Butler County EMS to Greenview Regional Hospital for possible injuries.  Her passenger, Lucian Hudson, of 155 Oak Hill Drive, was not injured.  The vehicle suffered severe damage and was towed by C & L Wrecker Service.
The second accident occurred at 12:18pm in the 2000 block of Rochester Road.  Wendy M. Grundy, 47, of 870 Lynnwood Way, Bowling Green, KY, was traveling west on Rochester Road in a 2006 Ford Focus.  She stated while traveling around a curve she lost control of her vehicle due to the wet roadway.  She went off the north side of the roadway striking a concrete culvert with the front of the vehicle.  The vehicle came to final rest off the north side of the roadway facing west.  The vehicle suffered moderate damages and was towed by Final Finish Wrecker Service.  No one was injured during the accident.
