BtN/WLBQ offers new and expanded BC Sports Package for 2013-14 school year

Butler County Schools will be back in session on Thursday, August 8, and the return of students means high school athletic seasons are just around the corner.  BtN/WLBQ 1570 will once again be broadcasting live on the radio (and live streaming on BtN) over 100 athletic contests throughout the school year, including football, boys and girls basketball, baseball and softball.  Additionally, the 2013-14 BC Sports Package will expand to include daily sponsorship of Kentucky Sports Radio and a weekly NFL recap, as well as inclusion as a sponsor on each related sports story that is posted on Beech Tree News and reported on WLBQ 1570.

"This will be the second straight year that we've opted to expand our sports package and that was only made possible through the financial support of area businesses, elected officials and the Butler County School District," said John Embry, vice-president of BtN/WLBQ.

The following were sports sponsors last season:  Morgantown Bank & Trust, Orthopedic Plus, BlueGrass Oral Health, Farm Bureau Insurance, Jones Funeral Chapel, Final Finish, Smith Funeral Home, Warren RECC, Hocker Insurance, Butler County Board of Education, Master One, and the elected officials of Butler County - Judge-Executive David Fields, Sheriff Scottie Ward, County Clerk Shirley Givens, Angie Pendley PVA, Jailer Terry Fugate, County Attorney Dick Deye, County Surveyor Cody Henderson, Circuit Clerk Melissa Cardwell, and Coroner Marty Jones.

Although the 2013-14 BC Sports Package will expand again this season, the monthly sponsorship rate is actually going down.

"We're offering a great deal for advertisers to grow their business or for churches and other organizations to show their support for Butler County Athletics and the student-athletes who are involved," said Embry.
