Hi! This is Janeen Taylor, running for First District Magistrate. Several people have asked me: What Does a Magistrate Do?

--Magistrates are your local decision-makers who represent YOU and vote during Fiscal Court meetings on issues that affect your daily life.

--They help control county spending, vote on the county budget and decide how your tax dollars are spent.

--They shape local policies from road maintenance to public services.

--They are your voice in county government so if you have concerns, your magistrate is one of the first people to contact.

--In the first district, coordination matters

The magistrate for the First District should also work closely with the mayor and city council for strong coordination to benefit Morgantown.
