Bryan Locke: Candidate for Morgantown City Council

Hello, my name is Bryan Locke and I’m asking for your Vote to keep me on Morgantown City Council on Tuesday November 8th.

My Goals are to continue to be fiscally responsible with our tax dollars, to strengthen our infrastructure, and to take advantage of our local resources like our beautiful Green River.

I have been on the City Council as an appointee by the Mayor and Council for the past two-year term.  Prior to that I served as Vice-Chairman on the Morgantown City Planning and Zoning Commission for eight years where I earned the Level 1 Achievement in City Governance from the Kentucky League of Cities.

I grew up in Morgantown and Butler County.  I am married to Jeanie Hunt Locke and we have two children, Lute and Annie Locke.  I know what it’s like to raise a family in Morgantown.

I have been a Radio and Television Broadcaster for over 40 years and got my start in Broadcasting right here in Morgantown on WLBQ with Mary Alice and Mayor Charlie Black.  I am a graduate of the Butler County High School Class of 1980.  I studied Mass Communications at Western Kentucky University.

My dad, the late Don Locke, taught Vocational Agriculture at Butler County High School for over 30 years.  My mom, Betty Locke, served on one of the first Beautification Committees in Morgantown in the 1960s and on the Library Board for many years.

I am a member of the Morgantown First United Methodist Church.

I have excellent communication skills.  I’m an excellent listener, and a determined problem solver.

It’s an honor to serve you.   I don’t take this position lightly.  I am fortunate enough to be able to work side-by-side with Mayor Billy Phelps and his staff as well as my current Council Members and the entirety of the Morgantown City Boards, Departments, and Commissions.

Jeanie and I are knocking on doors and listening to lots of questions and concerns.  If we missed you in passing, please feel free to call me 270 202-1430 and let me hear from you.

   Thank you.
