Brett Guthrie: Here to Help

Dear Friends,

Recently, many of you have contacted my office with questions about congressional redistricting.  I wanted to send you a quick note to clear up any confusion.

On February 10, 2012, the Kentucky General Assembly approved, and the governor signed into law, new Congressional District boundaries. The U.S. Constitution requires congressional districts to be based on the census done every ten years and lines redrawn to accommodate population changes.

The existing district boundaries, the map you see below, is the 2nd Congressional District as it stands until the next Congress convenes on January 3, 2013.

If you are located in one of the counties indicated on the map above, please continue to contact my office should you need help with problems related to federal government agencies or if you would like to voice a concern or ask a question; my office is here to help.

The new 2nd Congressional District (map pictured below) will go into effect on January 4, 2013.

It is an honor to serve and I look forward to continuing to represent you this year and providing you with excellent constituent services.

Sincerely,

BRETT GUTHRIE
Member of Congress
