Bears defeat Edmonson County for district win. 7-4
 
BROWNSVILLE — Claiming its second straight win, Butler County defeated Edmonson County 7-4 in an 11th District boys' soccer match on Monday, Sept. 25. 
Following the win, Butler County improved to 5-7-0 overall and 2-2-0 in the 11th District. 
Remaining winless, Edmonson County dropped to 0-12-0 overall and 0-5-0 in the 11th District after suffering the loss. 
Irvin Sanchez and Everson Padilla each scored three goals to lead Butler County to the district win. 
Accompanying Sanchez and Padilla in Butler County's scoring column, Julio Gomez netted one goal.
Contributing to Butler County's offensive attack, Eliazar Cordona distributed two assists. 
Aiding the Bears offensively, Sanchez, Padilla, Braden McKinney and James Gomez each dished out one assist. 
Goalkeeper Landon Beatty paced Butler County defensively, recording 15 saves for the Bears. 
Brayden Garrett and Josh Gates scored two goals apiece for Edmonson County in the district match.
Defensively for Edmonson County, goalkeeper Adin Gates recorded 27 saves while allowing seven goals. 
Butler County is scheduled to visit Logan County for a regular season finale on Thursday, Sept. 28.
