Boys & Girls Club Visits Payless Shoes

On December 19, 2012 the Boys & Girls Club took 44 children to Greenwood Mall to visit Payless Shoe Store.
Debra Hall, the now former Executive Director, of the Boys & Girls Club had submitted a grant to Payless ShoeSource in their Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids campaign. The club was awarded $20 gift cards for 50 children to receive a new pair of shoes.
A few children that were unable to attend due to illness therefore the staff picked out a pair of shoes for these children so they would not have to go without.
ASccording to the staff everyone had a great time being able to shop for their own pair of shoes. Some of the children were just as delighted to walk through the mall since it was their first time in doing so. For others that have been to the mall they enjoyed seeing all the Christmas decorations.
The Club would like to thank Scott Howard and the Butler Co Board of Education for generously donating a bus to transport the children and staff to the mall and Karen Shepherd who drove the bus on her, what should have been, first day of Christmas vacation.

Love good news being printed...and it's great to see bigger corporations helping those in need.
