Boys & Girls Club Radio Auction nets over $10K

The Annual Boys & Girls Club's Radio Auction was held on Saturday, November 20, in the lobby of Morgantown Bank & Trust. Bruce White and Tom Jones hit the airwaves on WLBQ 101.5 FM at 8:00 a.m., and the phones started ringing. By the end of the auction, the total amount raised was $10,684.

The money will be used for the day-to-day operations of the Boys and Girls Club.

"We want to say thank you to everyone that donated items, worked the auction, and called in bids. The community response has been overwhelming," said Amanda White, Boys & Girls Club Director.

The top-dollar item was a handmade knife by Phillip Johnson. Cakes, candy, haircuts, wreaths, and gift cards were among the long list of things donated. In addition, several individuals and businesses made cash donations.

"We're glad to support the Boys and Girls Club," said John Embry, speaking on behalf of WLBQ. "The club is a great organization that does a tremendous about of good for the children of Butler County."
