Board OKs 2021-22 school calendar and improvement plans for schools

The Butler County Board of Education met in regular session on Tuesday, January 12th, 2021 at the Butler County High School Auditorium.  Amy Hood, Delbert Johnson, Debbie Hammers, Ryan Daugherty, and Rich Ellis were the board members present.  The meeting was chaired by Superintendent Robert Tuck. 


Under Student Support Services Butler County School Board voted on the 2021-2022 calendar.


Below are the highlights for the calendar. 


August 9th:  Opening Day for staff

August 11th:  Opening Day for students

October 4th-8th: Fall Break

December 20th-December 31st:  Winter Break (School Resumes January 3rd, 2022)

April 4th-8th:  Spring Break (School resumes April 11th)

May 18th:  Last day for students

May 19th:  Closing Day for staff


Under the Superintendent’s Report, Mr. Tuck updated the board on Standard 5/Managerial Leadership, which is a component used for superintendent evaluation.   


Under Communication, Mr. Tuck updated the board on Morgantown Community Church purchase.  The board is waiting for the building to be removed from the 100 hundred-year flood plain by FEMA.  Once that is done the board will reconvene and look to purchase and bond it with renovations that may be needed for the school system.


Under Student Instructional Services, the board approved Butler County High School, Butler County Middle School, Morgantown Elementary, and North Butler Elementary’s 2020-2021 Comprehension Improvement Plan.
