I want to give a heartfelt thank you to all who have supported the Boys and Girls Club of Butler County in the past. Our fundraising for the year of 2016 has been great.
We are in our twentieth (20th) year, and we now serve over 700 kids a year in the various youth programs we offer. We have 400 members who at different times attend our afterschool program or our summer camp (six weeks).
The after school program currently averages about 105 students per day at two sites. 308 North Tyler St. in Morgantown, Ky., and our newest site at North Butler Elementary School. Our main focus is to offer a safe, and structured environment for wholesome physical, civic, and educational activities.
Our one hour Power Program is from 3:30-4:30 pm. We have a homework time. We have twelve paid student tutors, both high school, and college, who help with homework or other educational programs we provide.
We also serve over 600 elementary students with an in school eight-session "Smart Moves" program. This is administrated by our Unit Director Amanda White. This is an anti-drug, anti-alcohol, and anti-tobacco program. For K thru 5th-grade kids.
We say the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America each day at the club and teach civic programs.
We try to feed healthy snacks, meals, and drinks as far as our budget allows. All of our members get physical activity each day.
November and December are the biggest months of the year for donations to charities and non-profits. Our club is a 501-3-C non-profit, and all donations are tax deductable. If you donate to our club, you can rest assured that all your money (100%) goes to the program services for our kids in Butler County. Together we are improving Butler County one child at a time.
