Beech Tree News presents: "Bears Spotlight" Maelynn Bilicki

Maelynn is a senior at Butler County High School and is a member of the BCHS archery team and BCHS Lady Bears volleyball team. She is the daughter of Kenny and Kristy Reynolds. Maelynn resides in northern Butler County.


Maelynn began playing sports with teeball and picked up archery in 4th grade. In 6th grade, she joined the volleyball team along with S3DA club archery her freshmen year of high school. For archery, Maelynn’s success began in elementary school taking multiple wins at the state level. The individual successes carried over to BCMS and BCHS archery. She helped anchor archery teams who were undefeated for the season. She has also won two state championships competing in the S3DA club archery sport.


Maelynn helped the team achieve many goals that were set including receiving the highest tournament score in school history of 3416 and being a part of the first BCHS team to hit 3400. She is also part of the girls team to make it to the KHSAA state tournament in back to back years which was the first time in school history. 


During her senior season, she helped lead her team to wins over the #1 and #3 teams, and took first place ranking in the state of Kentucky. During that same year, the team competed at the NASP state tournament scoring and finishing with 3393 (5th place in state, school record) with a career high of 291 and season average of 280.


Maelynn was a part of the BCHS team who came in 5th place out of 22 teams at the 2024 KHSAA girls archery state championship tournament. This was the highest finish for the Butler County girls’ archery program.


During her volleyball career, Maelynn received the sportsmanship award and MVP awards for multiple seasons.


During her high school career, Maelynn has maintained a 3.9 GPA. She is a member of the BETA Club (4 years), FCCLA (one year), FCA (one year), BCHS student government (one year-president) and HOSA (two years). Maelynn was a 2023 Governor’s Scholarship Recipient and spent last summer at Murray State University. 


Maelynn currently works at Master One Tax office. Maelynn is CNA certified and plans to transition to the medical field.

 

Maelynn will graduate from BCHS in May and has signed to continue playing volleyball collegiately at the University of the Cumberlands. Her official signing will take place on Wednesday, April 24th at the BCHS fieldhouse.
