Scouting Report: Webster Co. HS Football Week #2
The BCHS Bears football team is on the road again, and travels to Webster Co. HS. The almost ninety-mile drive comes in week #2 of the KHSAA football regular season away at Dixon, Kentucky.
Quick Facts on Webster Co. HS football; the Trojans are Class 3A and lost their season opener to Crittenden Co. by a score of 46-18. Webster Co. has a *48-man roster grades 9-12 and last season the Bears lost to Webster Co. by a score of 55-28. Webster Co. in 2023 finished the season at 6-5 overall.
The Webster Co. offense is a run first offense and seldom if ever passes the football. Last week the Webster Co. Trojans ran the football forty-five plays; and only five pass plays on the night the entire game. So, look for the Trojans to, like most running teams, control the clock and dominate the time of possession.
Derek Adams & Ty Phillips are the keys to the run game for Webster Co. Tyler Kautzman, a junior who led the team in tackles last season returns and was the leading tackler last week in game one for the Trojans.
The Bears look to get into the win column this week, the keys to the game. One- hold the Webster Co. run game in check. Two- Win the turnover battle. Three- The Trojans pass defense gave up 280 yards passing last week, and the Bears will chip away at that area. Both teams are (0-1) and both look to get into the win column Friday night.

Bears to visit Webster County
MORGANTOWN — Butler County is slated to visit Webster County for its second game in the 2024 high school football season.
The Bears and Trojans met during the 2023 high school football campaign. Webster County pulled away to beat Butler County 55-28 on Aug. 25, 2023.
Both Butler County and Webster County will enter the upcoming game 0-1.
Logan County dealt Butler County a loss in a season opener on Friday, Aug. 23, beating the Bears 44-13.
In another season opener on Friday, Aug. 23, Crittenden County defeated Webster County 46-18.
The Bears and Trojans are Class 3A rivals.
Butler County competes in Class 3A, District 2. Head coach Josh Robins guides the Bears.
Webster County competes in Class 3A, District 1. Head coach Eddie Milum guides the Trojans.
Butler County has regular season games remaining versus Webster County, Warren Central, Grayson County, Hart County, Franklin-Simpson, Bethlehem, Adair County, Glasgow and Ohio County.
Webster County has regular season games remaining versus Butler County, Todd County Central, Ballard Memorial, Trigg County, Hopkins County Central, Hancock County, McLean County, Union County and Fort Campbell.
Webster County is scheduled to host Butler County for its home opener in the 2024 high school football season.
Kickoff for the Butler County-Webster County game is set for 7 p.m. in Dixon.
