Bears to visit Owensboro Catholic for district matchup

MORGANTOWN - Butler County is scheduled to visit Owensboro Catholic for a Class 2A, District 2 game on Friday, Oct. 8. 
The Bears are 4-2 overall and 1-1 in Class 2A, District 2. Under the direction of head coach Brandon Embry, Butler County has claimed wins over Waggener, Breckinridge County, Grayson County and McLean County. The Bears have dropped games to Russellville and Hancock County. 
Quarterback Jagger Henderson leads Butler County. Through the air, Henderson has completed 56 of 108 passes for 675 yards and seven touchdowns. Henderson has thrown seven interceptions. Pacing Butler County offensively, Henderson has rushed 54 times for 282 yards and six touchdowns. 
As a team, Butler County has rushed 161 times for 767 yards and 10 touchdowns. 
Owensboro Catholic is 2-5 overall and 2-0 in Class 2A, District 2. After opening the season 0-5, Owensboro Catholic has notched back-to-back district wins over Hancock County and Todd County Central. The Aces have dropped non-district games to Apollo, Daviess County, Union County, Owensboro and Christian Academy-Louisville.
Quarterback Lincoln Clancy leads Owensboro Catholic. Through seven games, Clancy has completed 70 of 118 passes for 1,288 yards and 10 touchdowns. Clancy has thrown seven interceptions.
As a team, Owensboro Catholic has rushed 169 times for 715 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Owensboro Catholic blanked the Bears 41-0 during the 2020 high school football season. 
Butler County has additional regular season games remaining versus Todd County Central, Clinton County and Ohio County. 
Kickoff for the Butler County-Owensboro Catholic football game is set for 7 p.m..
