Bears to visit Owensboro Catholic in Class 2A Playoffs

MORGANTOWN - Butler County is set to visit Owensboro Catholic in the first round of the KHSAA Class 2A Playoffs on Friday, Nov. 5.

The Bears concluded the regular season 6-4. Butler County has claimed wins over Waggener, Breckinridge County, Grayson County, McLean County, Clinton County, and Ohio County. The Bears have dropped games to Russellville, Hancock County, Owensboro Catholic, and Todd County Central. 

Head coach Brandon Embry guides the Bears. Butler County has recorded back-to-back wins. 

Quarterback Jagger Henderson (passing - 1,321 yards, 13 touchdowns), wide receiver Solomon Flener (receiving - 527 yards, 6 touchdowns,) and running back Colton Dunnells (rushing - 634 yards, 13 touchdowns) combine to lead the Bears. 

The Aces ended the regular season 5-5. Owensboro Catholic has recorded wins over Hancock County, Todd County Central, Butler County, McLean County, and Elizabethtown. The Aces have suffered losses to Apollo, Daviess County, Union County, Owensboro, and Christian Academy-Louisville. 

Head coach Jason Morris guides the Aces. After opening the season 0-5, Owensboro Catholic has reeled off five straight wins. 

Quarterback Lincoln Clancy (passing - 1,815 yards, 17 touchdowns), wide receiver Braden Muncy (receiving - 931 yards, 12 touchdowns), and running back Hunter Monroe (rushing - 761 yards, 6 touchdowns) combine to lead the Aces.

Owensboro Catholic pulled away to beat Butler County 48-12 in a Class 2A, District 2 game on Friday, Oct. 1.

Kickoff for the  Butler County-Owensboro Catholic game is set for 7 p.m.
