Bears to visit Breckinridge County

MORGANTOWN — Butler County is scheduled to visit Breckinridge County for its third game in the 2022 high school football season on Friday, Sept. 2.

The Bears are 2-0. Butler County has notched back-to-back wins over Russellville and Edmonson County. 

The Bears pulled away to beat visiting Russellville 34-13 in a season opener on Thursday, Aug. 18. 

Remaining in the win column eight days later, Butler County knocked off Edmonson County 35-6 in Brownsville on Friday, Aug. 26. 

Through two games, Butler County has rushed 86 times for 697 yards and nine touchdowns.

Colton Dunnells and Brody Hunt have combined to rush 58 times for 479 yards and seven touchdowns in Butler County's first two games.

The Fighting Tigers are 0-2. Breckinridge County have suffered back-to-back shutout losses in the 2022 high school football season.

Hancock County blanked host Breckinridge County 56-0 in a season opener on Friday, Aug. 19.

Dealing Breckinridge County its second loss, McLean County shut out the Tigers 56-0 in Calhoun on Friday, Aug. 26. 

Limited offensively, Breckinridge County has rushed 54 times for 186 yards through its first two games in the 2022 high school football season.

Butler County defeated Breckinridge County 44-13 in Morgantown during the 2021 high school football season. 

The Bears have regular season games remaining versus Breckinridge County, Grayson County, McLean County, Hancock County, Owensboro Catholic, Todd County Central, Clinton County and Ohio County. 

Kickoff for the Butler County-Breckinridge County football game is set for 7 p.m. in Harned.
