Bears upend Russellville, 79-55

RUSSELLVILLE — Butler County pulled away to defeat Russellville 79-55 in a boys' high school basketball game on Tuesday, Nov. 29. 
With the win, Butler County moved to 2-0. 
Host Russellville fared well early, edging the Bears 16-15 in the first quarter.
But Butler County gradually separated itself.
Finishing strong, Butler County dominated in the final quarter after leading 50-42 at the conclusion of the third period. 
The Bears excelled offensively, shooting 59.2 percent (29-of-49) from the field. Butler County connected on four of 11 three-point field goal attempts, shooting 36.4 percent from beyond the arc.
The Bears shot 58.6 percent (17-of-29) from the free throw line. 
Ty Price poured in a game-high 37 points and claimed eight rebounds to lead Butler County to the win. 
Delivering a double-double for the Bears, Lawson Rice scored 28 points and pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds.
Narrowly missing a double-double for Butler County, Trever Deweese added 10 points and nine rebounds.
Rounding out Butler County's individual scoring, Luke Laughing and Justin Castlen chipped in two points apiece. 
The Bears are scheduled to host Metcalfe County on Thursday, Dec. 1. Tip-off for the Butler County-Metcalfe County boys' basketball game is set for 7 p.m.
