Bears suffer season-ending loss to Cougars

WHITESVILLE — Butler County suffered a season-ending loss as Grayson County pulled away to win 14-0 in five innings in the semifinals of the 12th District Baseball Tournament at Whitesville Trinity on Monday, May 20. 
The loss eliminated Butler County from the 12th District Baseball Tournament. Butler County exited the 2024 high school baseball season 12-12. 
Garrett Phelps started on the mound for Butler County and took the loss.
Following Phelps, Malacki Murphy and Duncan Tyree pitched in relief for the Bears. 
Offensively, Butler County was held to three hits. Justin Castlen, Brycen Mode and Will Amos each collected one hit for the Bears.
