Bears set to visit Clinton County

MORGANTOWN - Butler County is set to visit Clinton County for a non-district high school football game on Friday, Oct. 22.

 

Familiar foes, Butler County an Clinton County are rivals from bordering districts. 

The Bears are 4-4 overall. Butler County compiled a 1-3 record in Class 2A, District 2. The Bears have posted wins over Waggener, Breckinridge County, Grayson County and McLean County. Butler County has dropped games to Russellville, Hancock County, Owensboro Catholic and Todd County Central.

Opponents have managed to outscore Butler County 204-154. However, Butler County has fared well throughout the 2021 high school football season.

The Bulldogs are 1-7 overall. Clinton County compiled a 1-3 record in Class 2A, District 3. The Bulldogs defeated Edmonson County earlier in the season. Clinton County has dropped games to Wayne County, Clay County (Tenn.), McCreary Central, Adair County, Metcalfe County, Green County and Monroe County.

Opponents have outscored Clinton County 329-118. Clinton County has suffered two shutout losses and been held to a touchdown or less in five different games.

The Bears have regular season games remaining versus Clinton County and Ohio County.

Butler County and Clinton County did not meet during the 2020 high school football season. 

Kickoff for the Butler County-Clinton County game is slated for 7 p.m. in Albany.
