The Butler County Bears fell short on Friday night in their quest for another 12th District title.  The Bears lost 81-64 to Edmonson County.  Following a tight first quarter, the Wilcats opened up an 11-point lead at the half, 38-27.  That lead was extended to 13 points, 58-45 at the end of the third quarter and the Bears weren't able to close that gap.  Scoring leaders for Butler County were Will Moore with 23 points, Baylee Anderson with 19 points, and Caleb Beasley with 13 points.

Rex Henderson, Baylee Anderson, and Will Moore were named to the 12th District All Season Team.  Butler County will advance to the Third Region Tournament on Thursday at the Sportscenter in Owensboro.

The Boys 3rd Region Basketball tournament will be played at the Owensboro Sports Center on March 1,2, 4, & 7th. Here is the following need to know information for parents, students, and fans planning to attend.
 
The Bears will play the Hancock Co. Hornets winner of the 11th District, and who have an overall record of 27-4 on the season. The first round game is Thursday, March 2nd and is a 6pm tip-off start at the Sports Center in Owensboro, Ky.
Admission to the Regional tournament is $ 6.00 general admission and $ 8.00 for Chair back seating. NO coaching cards or cards of any kind will be accepted. Gates will open nightly one hour before the first game tip-off. Each school will be given the same amount of tickets to be sold as pregame sales. BCHS tickets will go on sale on Monday, Feb. 27th during school day hours from 8am-2:45pm.
       
KHSAA Sportsmanship: NO signs, NO Big Heads, NO noisemakers, and NO confetti will be allowed. Students can wear body paint if they apply before entering the Sports Center. One mascot will be allowed per team and need to be in the Cheer area.

KHSAA has chosen 4th Region officials (Bowling Green, Ky) to work this tournament.
