Bears roll past Russellville, move to 5-0

MORGANTOWN — Remaining in the win column, Butler County rolled past Russellville 93-59 on Thursday, Dec. 14.
After claiming the victory, Butler County moved to 5-0.
Starting strong, Butler County outscored Russellville 24-13 in the opening quarter.
The Bears led 47-31 at halftime and continued to control the matchup throughout the second half.
Butler County exited the third quarter out in front 66-44. 
Lawson Rice, who was recognized for scoring his 1,000th point, poured in a game-high 31 points to lead Butler County to the win.
Following Rice in scoring for the Bears, Ty Price netted 28 points. 
Briar Griffin scored 14 points and Trever Deweese netted 10 points as four Butler County players reached double figures. 
Chipping in offensively for the Bears, Justin Castlen contributed six points while Curtis Murphy and Cainan Vincent added two points apiece.
Butler County will be back on the court in neighboring Indiana for its next game. The Bears are scheduled to meet Evansville North (Ind.) in the Bosse Winter Classic at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16.
