Bears roll past Raiders 86-38

MORGANTOWN — Butler County rolled past visiting Whitesville Trinity 86-38 in a 12th District boys' basketball game on Friday, Jan. 26. 

With the win, Butler County improved to 10-6 overall and 2-0 in the 12th District.

Whitesville Trinity dropped to 1-16 overall and 0-3 in the 12th District following the loss. 

Butler County thrived early, outscoring Whitesville Trinity 21-4 in the opening quarter. 

The Bears led 47-15 at halftime and continued to control the 12th District game throughout the second half.

Butler County led 68-38 at the conclusion of the third quarter. 

Ty Price poured in a game-high 31 points to lead Butler County to the 12th District win.

Accompanying Price in double figures for Butler County, Lawson Rice scored 20 points and Justin Castlen netted 17 points.

Eight players accounted for Butler County's scoring. The additional scorers for Butler County were Carson Davis (four points), Trever Deweese (three points), Curtis Murphy (three points), Jett Johnson (three points) and Nicholas Francisco (three points). 

Butler County is scheduled to host Edmonson County for another 12th District boys' basketball game at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29.
