Bears roll past Muhlenberg County 81-47

Ty Price pours in a game-high 30 points to lead Butler County to the non-district win

GREENVILLE — Butler County rolled past Muhlenberg County 81-47 in a non-district boys' high school basketball game on Tuesday, Jan. 23.  

Following the win, Butler County improved to 8-6. 

Starting strong, Butler County outscored 3rd Region rival Muhlenberg County 23-9 in the first quarter.

The Bears led 46-16 at halftime and remained in control throughout the second half.

Butler County led 71-35 at the conclusion of the third quarter. 

Ty Price poured in a game-high 30 points to lead Butler County to the non-district win. 

Accompanying Price in double figures for Butler County, Lawson Rice and Justin Castlen netted 20 points apiece. 

Seven different players broke into Butler County's scoring column. The additional scorers for Butler County were Briar Griffin (six points), Clayton Deweese (two points), Carson Davis (two points) and Trever Deweese (one point). 

 

Butler County is scheduled to visit Whitesville Trinity for a 12th District boys' basketball game on Thursday, Jan. 25. Tip-off for the Butler County-Whitesville Trinity matchup is set for 7:30 p.m.
