Bears ranked 11th in Class 2A

MORGANTOWN — Butler County is ranked 11th in the final Kentucky Associated Press Class 2A Poll of the 2022 high school football season.

The Bears, who are preparing to compete in the high school football postseason, received four votes for the Kentucky Associated Press Class 2A Poll. Butler County is listed one spot outside of the Top 10, which includes McLean County (10), Walton-Verona (9), Lloyd Memorial (8), Shelby Valley (7), Breathitt County (5-tie), Lexington Christian (5-tie), Metcalfe County (4), Owensboro Catholic (3), Mayfield (1-tie) and Beechwood (1-tie). 

Behind the Bears, Green County received three votes for the poll. 

The Bears compiled an 8-2 record in the 2022 high school football regular season. Currently, Butler County boasts the fifth best RPI Ranking among Class 2A football teams. 

Butler County is preparing to host Murray in the opening round of the 2022 Class 2A UK HealthCare Sports Medicine State Football Finals on Friday, Nov. 4.
