Bears level Ohio County, 48-12

MORGANTOWN - Butler County dominated in its regular season finale, beating visiting Ohio County 48-12 on Friday, Oct. 29.

Following the win, Butler County improved to 6-5.

Ohio County dropped to after 1-9 suffering the loss. 

The Eagles scored first and never trailed, taking a 6-0 lead out of the first quarter. Butler County led 20-6 at halftime and remained in control throughout the second half of the late-season matchup. 

Butler County, under the direction of head coach Brandon Embry, rushed 28 times for 242 yards and six touchdowns in the win.

Running back Colton Dunnells led the Bears, rushing 16 times for 171 yards and five touchdowns.

Contributing on the ground for Butler County, quarterback Jagger Henderson rushed 11 times for 63 yards and one touchdown.

Henderson paced Butler County through the air, completing 10 of 25 passes for 109 yards. 

Luke Laughing hauled in three receptions for 49 yards to rank as Butler County's leading receiver. Behind Laughing, Solomon Flener reeled in four receptions for 39 yards. 

Defensively for Butler County, multiple players delivered. Josh Morris recorded a team-high 16 tackles for the Bears. Second to Morris in the key defensive category, Landon Binion registered 10 tackles. Producing in multiple defensive categories for Butler County, Gage Beasley returned a fumble 53 yards for a touchdown and logged an interception. 

Butler County is scheduled to visit Owensboro Catholic for a game in the first round of the KHSAA Class 2A Playoffs on Friday, Nov. 5.
