Bears defeat Fort Campbell on Senior Night, 87-65
 
MORGANTOWN — Butler County pulled away to defeat visiting Fort Campbell 87-65 on Monday, Feb. 13.
The Bears, under the direction of Coach Calvin Dockery, won convincingly on Senior Night.
Setting the tone, Butler County outscored Fort Campbell 19-13 in the first quarter.
The Bears led 45-25 at halftime and remained in control throughout the second half. 
Butler County led 62-40 at the end of the third quarter. 
The Bears shot 46.6 percent (34-of-73) from the field in their winning effort. Butler County made seven of 29 three-point field goal attempts.
The Bears shot 80 percent (12-of-15) from the free throw line. 
Ty Price scored a game-high 39 points to lead Butler County to the win.
Accompanying Price in double figures for the Bears, Lawson Rice scored 25 points.
Finishing near double figures for Butler County, Luke Laughing netted eight points.
The additional scorers for Butler County were Trever Deweese (four points), Keagen Grubb (four points), Brody Hunt (three points), Ty Griffin (two points) and Case Hooten (two points). 
Butler County is scheduled to host 3rd Region rival McLean County for its regular season finale on Thursday, Feb. 16. Tip-off for the Butler County-McLean County boys' basketball game is set for 7:30 p.m.
 
Lady Bears defeat Fort Campbell, 59-27

MORGANTOWN — Butler County pulled away to defeat visiting Fort Campbell 59-27 in a regular season finale on Tuesday, Feb. 14.
Winning on Senior Night, Butler County used a balanced offensive attack to turn back Fort Campbell. 
Butler County led 28-11 at halftime and finished strong, defeating Fort Campbell convincingly. 
Jenna Phelps, who was honored for scoring her 1,000th point, led Butler County to the win. Phelps scored 12 points to pace the Lady Bears. 
Butler County shot 35.3 percent (24-of-68) from the field in its winning effort. The Lady Bears made three of 19 three-point field goal attempts.
Butler County shot 66.7 percent (eight-of-12) from the free throw line. 
Narrowly missing double figures for Butler County, Addison Miller scored nine points and MacKenzie Coleman netted nine points. 
Butler County received scoring from 14 different players. The additional scorers for Butler County were Ann Marie Skaggs (six points), Kennedy Rice (four points), Parker Willoughby (four points), Bailey Moore (three points), Tinslea Belcher (two points), Carley Jones (two points), Taylor Leach (two points), Miley Franzell (two points), Isabella Easley (two points), Ava Wilson (two points) and Tobin Maxfield (one point). 
Butler County is scheduled to meet Whitesville Trinity in the semifinals of the 2023 12th District Girls' Basketball Tournament at Edmonson County High School on Monday, Feb. 20. Tip-off for the Butler County-Whitesville Trinity girls' basketball matchup is set for 6 p.m.
