Bears, Lady Bears Both Hit the Tournament Trail

With Christmas in the rearview mirror, the Butler County High School boys' and girls' basketball teams will take to the court this week in a pair of road tournaments.  The Lady Bears will be participating in the Greenwood Holiday Classic at Greenwood High School in Bowling Green, while the Bears will travel to Calhoun, Kentucky for the Advanced Drainage Systems Roundball Roundup at McLean County.

Both teams will begin play tomorrow, Tuesday, December 27.  The Lady Bears will face Warren East at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday; Franklin-Simpson at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday (12/28); and Caverna at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday (12/29).  The girls' will also play on Friday with game time and opponent to be announced later in the week.

The Bears will open play tomorrow at 10 a.m. against Owensboro Senior.  Game time and opponent for Wednesday and Thursday games will be posted as soon as they are made available.

Beech Tree 1570 AM will be broadcasting as many games possible from both tournaments.

"We plan to broadcast all games in both tournaments if at all possible, times permuting," said John Embry, vice-president of Beech Tree Media.  "However, if game times for the boys and girls conflict, we'll try to alternate coverage between the two teams."
