Bears held hitless in loss to Franklin-Simpson

FRANKLIN - Butler County slipped into the loss column on the road at Franklin-Simpson on Saturday. The Bears were held hitless as Franklin-Simpson pulled away to win 7-0 in a non-district high school baseball game.
The loss halted Butler County's three-game winning streak.
With the loss, Butler County dropped to 6-6.
Franklin-Simpson improved to 13-5 with the win.
In a dominant performance, Franklin-Simpson pitcher Donnie Alderson threw a no-hitter. Alderson registered seven strikeouts and didn't allow any walks.
Butler County pitcher Ross West took the loss. West surrendered seven runs on 11 hits over six innings, striking out two and walking one.
Franklin-Simpson blew open a scoreless game in the bottom half of the fourth inning, scoring three runs.
The Wildcats added four runs in the bottom half of the sixth inning to take a 7-0 lead.
Franklin-Simpson scored seven runs on 11 hits.
Dalton Fiveash, Jacob Curtis, Conner Rogers and Hunter Crafton led the Franklin-Simpson offensive effort with two hits apiece.
Each high school baseball team committed one error.
The Butler County and Franklin-Simpson baseball squads aren't scheduled to meet again during the current campaign.
Butler County is scheduled to visit Edmonson County for a 12th District game on Monday. First pitch for the Butler County-Edmonson County game is slated for 5:30 p.m. in Brownsville.
