Bears football team competing for "Play of the Season"

The intense rivalry between the Butler County Bears football team and the Grayson County Cougars did not go unnoticed this season as their match-up was featured by Bluegrass Cellular as one of it's "Battles in the Bluegrass." Other rivalry match-ups featured this football season were Monroe County vs. Warren East, LaRue County vs. Green County, and North Laurel vs. Southwestern.

Although the Bears fell 51-26 to the Cougars, they still have a chance to win a $1,000 donation for Butler County High School. The Bears are battling it out online against each team featured during the "Battles." One play from each team has been nominated to be the "Play of the Season." The play nominated from BCHS is the slant pass from QB Elijah Flener to WR Zeke Woodcock. The play picked up a huge chunk of yards for the Bears.
