Bears fall on the road at Todd; eye Ohio Co. tonight in final regular season game

The Butler Co. Bears dropped to (0-9) on the season with a tough loss at Todd Co. Central last Friday night by a score of 29-14.  On a rain soaked night the Bears went to the ground game and on the third possession of the first quarter put together an eight play drive going sixty-five yards to take an early 8-0 lead. Senior QB Alex Rich had runs of 9, 6, 22, 2, and a 1 yard run on QB sneak for the touchdown. Rich also ran for the two point conversion.

The Bears defense played exceptional the entire first half; holding the Rebels to 90 yards total offense on only 22 plays. Notable defensive play by senior LB Michael Elmore, senior LB Tiler Yates, and junior LB Warren Cameron,  junior DL Koby Warren, and soph. DB Josh Morris in the first half of play.   The Bears early on and all of the first half were in full control with an 8-0 lead heading into the locker room at halftime.

But the third quarter of play took an ugly turn; and the Rebels seized all the momentum scoring on the first play from scrimmage and conversion to tie the game at 8-8. The Rebels would dominate the third period and take a 23-8 lead; the Bears were able to get on the board with six minutes to go in the game making the score 23-14; on a Freshman QB Jagger Henderson pass to freshman Solomon Flener for a twenty-five yard touchdown. The Rebels came right back and added another score, and the game ended 29-14.
