Bears fall to Ohio County

HARTFORD — Butler County suffered its second straight loss as Ohio County prevailed 80-63 in a boys' high school basketball game on Tuesday, Feb. 8.

Following the loss, Butler County dropped to 14-9.

Ohio County improved to 16-6 after notching the win. 

Homestanding Ohio County shot 50 percent (26-of-52) from the field. The Eagles shot 59.3 percent (16-of-27) from three-point range.

Ohio County shot 75 percent (12-of-16) from the free throw line and featured five scorers in double figures.

Josh Manning scored a game-high 21 points to lead Ohio County. In addition to Manning's game-high scoring performance, Walker Lindsey (13 points), Carson Kennedy (11 points), Parker Culbertson (11 points) and Cooper Allen (10 points) reached double figures for the Eagles.

The additional scorers for Ohio County were Isaac Southard (nine points), Carter Young (three points) and Bo Morse (two points). 

Butler County shot 46 percent (23-of-50) from the field in the boys' high school basketball matchup. The Bears were seven-of-23 beyond the arc, shooting 30.4 percent from three-point range.

Butler County shot 66.7 percent (10-of-15) from the free throw line. 

Jagger Henderson scored 14 points to lead the Bears. Accompanying Henderson in double figures for Butler County, Solomon Flener and Brody Hunt netted 13 points apiece. 

Narrowly missing double figures in scoring for the Bears, Lawson Rice added nine points.

Chipping in offensively for Butler County, Braden Dockery (five points), Zack Phelps (four points), Colton Tichenor (three points) and Isaac Dockery (two points) provided the rest of the Bears' scoring.
