Bears fall to Hornets, Wildcats

The holiday break and inclement weather have slowed the pace of games for the Butler County Bears as of late, having only played a couple of games over the past two weeks.  Butler County dropped a double-overtime 59-56 decision on December 30 at Hancock County and fell 75-68 on January 3 at home against Edmonson County.

A see-saw affair that featured ten lead changes, six ties, and a strong second half comeback for Butler County saw the Bears come up a little short at Hancock County.  Trailing 32-20 at halftime, the Bears battled back to tie the game at the end of regulation and played hard through two overtime periods before falling 59-56 to Hancock County, a Third Region opponent.

Butler County placed four players in double-figures, led by Will Moore with 14 points; Baylee Anderson had 13 points; Rex Henderson added 12 points; and Blake Graham finished with 10 points.

The Bears were 21 for 58 in two-point field goals; 2 for 10 from three-point range; and were 15 of 20 from the free throw line.
