The Butler Co. Bears ended the regular season with a heart stopping come from behind win by the score of 31-27 over the Ohio Co. Eagles on Senior Night. The Eagles wasted no time taking the opening drive sixty-eight yards in seven plays to take a 7-0 lead with 8:28 in the first quarter of play. The Bears on their first possession drove to their own fourteen yard line, but on fourth down could not convert and turned the ball over on downs to the Eagles.

The first quarter would end with the Bears trailing 7-0; but on the second possession a fifty-five yard, nine play drive was capped off with a touchdown pass from QB Rex Henderson to wide out Daltyn Havens from six yards out. The kick went wide; Bears trailed 7-6 with 9:22 left in the first half. The Bears defense held the Eagles and forced them to go three and punt on their next possession. The Bears offense responded again with fifty-two yard, ten play drive. QB Henderson’s touchdown pass to Jacob Hixenbaugh was good from four yards out; the two point conversion pass was incomplete. Bears led 12-7 with 5:02 left in the half.

QB Henderson on the first two plays would run the QB keeper for twelve yards before getting out of bounds and stopping the clock. Then on third and long Henderson hit wide out Brenden Shanklin for clutch catch of sixteen yard pass over the middle to keep the drive alive.  A pass interference call in the end zone on the Eagles moved the ball; giving the Bears first and goal from the ten yard line.
