Bears drop game to CPA

BOWLING GREEN — Butler County slipped into the loss column as Christ Presbyterian Academy (CPA), a team out of Nashville, prevailed 89-80 in the Gary Force Honda Clash at the Swamp at Greenwood High School on Saturday, Jan. 13. 

Following the loss, Butler County fell to 7-6. 

Butler County started strong, outscoring CPA 21-15 in the first quarter.

But the Bears faltered.

CPA battled back from behind and clung to a 31-30 lead at halftime.

Pushing its lead out, CPA led 58-55 at the conclusion of the third quarter. 

Ty Price scored 29 points to lead the Bears. Price remains one of the top scorers in Kentucky boys' high school basketball. 

Accompanying Price in double figures for Butler County, Lawson Rice scored 21 points and Justin Castlen netted 17 points.

 

Rounding out Butler County's scoring, Briar Griffin and Trever Deweese added six points apiece.
