Bears drop game to Colonels in Hebrews Classic

MORGANTOWN — Butler County was held to a season-low point total as Henderson County pulled away to win 72-53 in the Hebrews Classic on Saturday, Feb. 17. 

As a result of the loss, Butler County dropped to 17-8. 

The Bears slipped into the loss column after notching three straight wins. 

Delivering a double-double, Lawson Rice scored 19 points and cleared out 13 rebounds to lead the Bears.

Following Rice in scoring for Butler County, Ty Price netted 14 points.

 

Accompanying Rice and Price in double figures for Butler County, Briar Griffin scored 11 points.

Rounding out Butler County's scoring, Trever Deweese added seven points and Justin Castlen contributed two points.

Active inside for Butler County, Deweese secured 12 rebounds. 

Butler County is scheduled to visit McLean County on Tuesday, Feb. 20. Tip-off for the Butler County-McLean County boys' basketball game is set for 7:30 p.m.
