Bears drop game to Breckinridge County

HARNED — Butler County fell behind and couldn't battle back as Breckinridge County won 74-55 in a boys' high school basketball game on Tuesday, Dec. 13.
Breckinridge County moved ahead during the first half. The Fighting Tigers led 35-28 at halftime and maintained an advantage following the break.
Extending its lead after the intermission period, Breckinridge County led 53-41 at the end of the third quarter.
Butler County shot 32.2 percent (19-of-59) from the field in the setback. The Bears finished eight-of-28 from three-point range.
Visiting Butler County shot 90 percent (nine-of-10) from the free throw line. 
Ty Price scored 18 points to lead the Bears. Accompanying Price in double figures for Butler County, Lawson Rice scored 12 points, Kolton Hudson netted 11 points and Justin Castlen added 10 points. 
Rice recorded a double-double for the Bears, claiming 10 rebounds. 
Keagen Grubb rounded out Butler County's individual scoring, chipping in four points. 
Third Region rivals, Butler County and Breckinridge County aren't scheduled to meet again in the 2022-23 boys' high school basketball season.
