Bears drop district game to Todd County Central

MORGANTOWN - Butler County fell short as visiting Todd County Central held on to win 18-12 in a Class 2A, District 2 game on Friday, Oct. 15.
Following the loss, Butler County slipped to 4-4 overall and 1-3 in Class 2A, District 2.
Todd County Central improved 3-5 overall and 1-2 in Class 2A, District 2 as a result of the win. 
Following a scoreless first quarter, Butler County and Todd County Central each scored once in the second period to leave the game tied 6-6 at halftime.
However, Todd County Central scored another touchdown in the third quarter to move ahead 12-6.
The Rebels rushed 37 times for 219 yards and three touchdowns. Omarion Riddick led Todd County Central, rushing 23 times for 156 yards and one touchdown. Aiding the Rebels offensively, Preston Moore and Chase Wells added one rushing touchdown apiece. 
Defensively for Todd County Central, Wells recorded 10 tackles, three tackles for a loss and three sacks. Wells paced all players in tackles, tackles for a loss and sacks. 
Quarterback Jagger Henderson led Butler County. Through the air, Henderson completed eight of 13 passes for 109 yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Henderson rushed 15 times for 85 yards. 
Keagen Grubb paced Butler County in receiving, reeling in two receptions for 39 yards and one touchdown. 
Butler County rushed 34 times for 137 yards and one touchdown in the district matchup.
Defensively for the Bears, Silcox, Gage Beasley, Ian Moore and Landon Binion recorded six tackles apiece.
Butler County is scheduled to visit Clinton County for a non-district game on Friday, Oct. 22.
