Bears Blast Daviess 11-1; Fall to Muhlenberg

Daviess County didn't put up much of a fight on Wednesday as the Bears cruised to a blowout 11-1 win in five innings at Butler County.

The Bears scored four runs in the fourth on an RBI single by Madeline Drake, an RBI single by Amy Rogers, an RBI single by Natoshia White, and an RBI double by Lynsie Clark.

Drake racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Bears.

Morgan Manning had an impressive outing against Daviess County's lineup. Daviess County managed just three hits off Manning, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out three during her five innings of work.

The lead stayed with the Bears after the first, when they scored three runs on an RBI double by Taylor King and a two-run home run by Lynsie Clark.

The Bears scored two runs of their own in the second. The Bears scored on an error and a wild pitch.

The Butler County Bears JV built an early edge on Wednesday, but Daviess County JV roared back to steal a 9-6 victory.

A two-run double gave Daviess the lead in the fourth inning.

Abigail Fry racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Butler County Bears JV. She singled in the first, second, and fourth innings.
The Daviess County JV pitcher allowed six runs over four innings. She struck out four, walked none and surrendered 10 hits.

Butler County scored three runs of their own in the first. The Bears scored on an RBI single by Fry and a two-run single by Allie Howard.

Daviess County brought home one run in the second inning, and matched that run total in the third.

It didn't take long for Butler County to answer as they scored three runs of their own in the second. Butler County scored on a two-run triple by Maddie McKinney and an RBI single by Fry.

Daviess County JV never surrendered the lead after the fourth inning, scoring six runs on two doubles and two singles.

Bears outhit Muhlenburg County but fall 4-3

The Bears lost 4-3 in seven innings at Butler County on Tuesday despite outhitting Mulenburg County nine to four.

Madeline Drake started things off for the Bears as she hit a double to center field in the bottom of the first.  Amy Rogers singled sending Drake home.  Lynsie Clark came up to the plate hit a line drive single passed second base moving Rogers to third: Bears 1, Muhlenberg 0.
        
The scoring continued in the second inning.  Taylor King tagged a single to right field and Jazmin Reynolds laid down a sacfaice bunt, advancing King to second. Payton Grubb grounded out but moved King to third. Drake comes back up to the plate and singled to center field, scoring King as the Bears went up 2-0.

In the top of the third Muhlenberg's bats came alive.  BCHS pitcher Morgan Manning walked the first batter; the next batter singled to right field.  However, Reynolds threw the runner out at second only to be called safe due to defensive interference. A Butler County error allowed Muhlenberg to score.  Muhlenberg hit into a double play but also scored on the play.

Two players for Muhlenberg hit out of the park homeruns in the fourth giving the Lady Mustangs the lead.  The Bears scored again in the fifth as Clark hit a triple and scored off a single by Manning.

Butler JV beats Mulhenberg 5-2

The Butler County Bears JV jumped on Muhlenburg County JV early on their way to a 5-2 win on Tuesday at Butler County in five innings, scoring three runs in the first inning.

Kassie Jo Phelps put together a nice outing. Muhlenburg County JV managed just three hits off Phelps, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out one during her five innings of work.

After pushing across two runs in the top of the second, Muhlenburg County JV faced just a 3-2 deficit.
The Butler County Bears JV added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth. A error scored Allie Howard to start the scoring in the inning.
