Bears beat Hancock in OT; advance to semi-finals of 3rd Region Tournament

An excited Butler County student section following the Bears' 51-48 overtime win over Hancock County.

The Butler County Bears won in dramatic fashion on Thursday night with a 51-48 overtime win over Hancock County in the first round of the Third Region Tournament at the Owensboro Sportscenter.  A low-scoring affair, the Bears found themselves on the wrong of a 37-34 score when junior guard Will Moore drilled a 30-plus foot jumper at the buzzer to force and overtime period.  Moore sank another 3-pointer in the overtime period and senior Baylee Anderson proved clutch down the stretch, hitting 7 of 8 free throws.

Will Moore led the Bears in scoring with 20 points; Rex Henderson added 13 points and Baylee Anderson had 10.

As a team, the Bears hit 14 2-point goals, two 3-point goals, and were 16 for 21 from the free throw line.
