Bears beat Bethlehem, 73-40

BARDSTOWN - Visiting Butler County pulled away to beat Bethlehem 73-40 in a boys' high school basketball game on Saturday, Dec. 4. 

After claiming the win, Butler County moved to 2-0.

Bethlehem dropped to 1-2 following the loss. 

Butler County moved ahead early, separating itself from Bethlehem. The Bears forced Bethlehem to play from behind throughout the boys' high school basketball matchup.

The Bears shot 56.9 percent (33-of-58) from the field in the win. Butler County finished 3-of-11 from 3-point range.

The Bears shot 57.1 percent (4-of-7) from the free throw line in the victory.

Butler County featured three scorers in double figures. 

Jagger Henderson scored 19 points to lead Butler County to the win. Henderson finished nine-of-13 from inside the arc.

Following Henderson, Brody Hunt netted 16 points for the Bears.

Accompanying Henderson and Hunt in double figures in scoring for the Bears, Lawson Rice added 12 points.

Flirting with double figures for Butler County, Braden Dockery and Colton Tichenor scored nine points apiece while Solmon Flener posted eight points. 

Flener paced the Bears inside, claiming nine rebounds.  

Struggling offensively, Bethlehem shot 27.5 percent (14-of-51) from the field. The Eagles were 3-of-19 from 3-point range.

Bethlehem shot 56.2 percent (9-of-16) from the free throw line. 

Camden Porter paced Bardstown inside, scoring 13 points for the Eagles. 

Butler County is scheduled to visit Daviess County on Tuesday, Dec. 7. Tip-off for the Butler County-Daviess County boys' basketball game is set for 7:30 p.m. in Owensboro.
