The Bears bats were unable to produce late in the game, however, and suffered a defeat of 4-1.

According to Coach Winn, "We played solid baseball.  We pitched well, played good defense, and even hit well.  We just didn’t get hits when we needed to with runners in scoring position." The loss dropped the Bears to 2-7 on the season while the Cougars moved to 5-2.

The Bears JV team dropped the second game of the varsity/JV double header suffering a 9-6 defeat.  Brandon Jones recorded the loss on the mound while the Bears JV moved to 1-2 on the year.
