Bears Baseball falls to Franklin-Simpson

Coach Winn sends Blake Graham home

The BCHS Bears Baseball team has had relatively quiet week so far, but things will heat up this weekend at the Bowling Green Invitational tournament. On Monday, the Bears traveled to Franklin Simpson high school where they faced off against the Wildcats. The Wildcats won with a score of 8-0.

Monday’s game against Franklin Simpson was the second and final meeting of the two teams this spring. The first time BCHS played the Wildcats, a couple big innings led Franklin to the 12-2 victory. The Bears were looking for revenge on Monday’s match-up, but the Wildcats once again proved to be too much. Senior Dillen White had the start pitching for the Bears. White struck out 2, walked 3, and gave up 3 earned runs in 4 innings of work. He was relieved by Blake Graham on the mound who struck out 3 over his 2 innings of pitching. Graham also had the only two hits of the game for the Bears, hitting a single and driving a double down the line.

Tuesday’s scheduled home game against Henderson County was canceled due to Henderson having to make-up a district game on the same day.

The Bears will play a doubleheader against North Harden and Greenwood starting at 5:00 at Greenwood High School on Friday night. Saturday they will travel to Bowling Green High School to take on the Purples at 1:30.
