BEARS 12th DISTRICT CHAMPS

The Butler County Bears defeated Grayson County on Friday night to capture the 12th District Championship for the second year in a row. The gym was packed, the Bear Cave and Pep Band did a great job, and Coach Calvin Dockery and the Bears got the job done winning 75-63. Following the game several Bears were honored for 12th district excellence. Rebecca Daugherty and Laura Baseheart were recognized for All District cheerleading honors. Zak Burden and Zeke Woodcock received 12th District All Season recognition. Trevor Jenkins was voted to the 12th District All Academic team, and joined teammates Zak Burden and Zeke Woodcock on the 12th District All Tournament team. The final award of the night went to Caleb Deweese as he was voted the 12th District Tournament Most Valuable Player. Deweese scored 22 points in the championship game.The Bears will face off with Ohio County in the first round of the 3rd Region on Wednesday night at 7:45pm in the Owensboro Sports Center. GO BEARS!!!!!!
