Bears’ Track and Field Set Two New School Records at State Meet

Butler County rostered 10 athletes at The Class A State Meet in Lexington on Saturday, May 20^th. For the 2^nd year in a row Coach Fuller, Coach Donaldson, and Coach Lindsey have prepared a large number of state competition.

“We have seen numerous school record fall over the past two seasons and are hopeful that the success of this program will continue.” Explained Coach Donaldson. “This season would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the athletes. We also want to thank all the parents for their support.”

Senior Hannah Perry broke a school record, which she set last season, in the 800M Run with a time of 2:31.94. “I am just happy that I achieved my goal before I graduate next week.” Explained an exhausted Perry. “The competition out here is tough, but I will for sure miss it.”

Junior Kierra Neighbors broke her school record in the 100M Hurdles with a time of 17.98. “I got under 18 seconds, which was my goal this season.” Stated Neighbors.

“It has been so much fun this season to see all the hard work pay off.” Stated Coach Fuller. “I am ready for next season, the future looks bright.”

The high school season may have come to an end, but the middle school team will travel to Louisville to compete at their State Meet on June 3^rd.
