Martin and New York Times Best Selling author Sharyn McCrumb

Library Director Kenna Martin and Children’s Librarian Kathy Lawrence represented Butler County during the 100th Annual West Virginia Library Association Fall Conference in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.  For 100 years librarians in West Virginia have been formally gathering to share ideas.  The theme of the conference was Interconnectedness: The State of Being Connected with Each Other.  Martin submitted a program proposal for presentation and was accepted.

This year the conference was hosted by West Virginia Library Association and the Southeastern Library Association which connected librarians from 12 states.  The conference was held at the Greenbrier Resort which is a National Historic Landmark located in the mountains of West Virginia.  Martin not only presented at the conference but got to spend time with New York Times Best Selling author Sharyn McCrumb.  Martin said “It was an amazing experience to share ideas with librarians from 12 other states.”
