BCNSDAR to host Memorial Day Program

Monday, May 28 at 11:00, the annual Memorial Day program will be held on the courthouse lawn. This year it is presented by the Butler County Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.  2012 is the 150th anniversary of the Civil War and BCNSDAR will be paying tribute to the Civil War Veterans of Butler County.  The Butler County Chapter NSDAR will be joined by VFW Post 5837 Ladies Auxiliary, Green River NSDAR Society CAR, and the JRNROTC of Butler County High School in honoring our Soldiers.

This year’s speaker will be Roger Givens, Civil War Historian, author and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution.

VFW Post 5837 Ladies Auxiliary is pleased to announce that Memorial Day will commemorate the taking of orders for Honor Bricks.  Walls of Honor will be erected to enhance the existing VFW Ladies Auxiliary Monument on the South lawn of the Courthouse yard. Walls of Honor will be erected from bricks all ready dedicated and new bricks ordered. Bricks for the walls will be any Butler County persons who served in the military from the Spanish American War through the present

The VFW Ladies Auxiliary wants to extend our, Thanks, to the BCNSDAR for the opportunity to offer honor bricks for order after the Memorial Day program and there continued support in recognizing our soldiers past and present.

We hope to see you all out to pay respect to our military.
