BCMS Wins the 2012 BRIMS Regional Bridge Building Contest

On Saturday, March 10th, the Butler County Middle School bridge building team won the BRIMS Regional Bridge Building Contest at Stupp Bridge Company in Bowling Green. In the middle school division, BCMS claimed 1st place out of 5 schools participating.

Nekayah Gray, Dennis McCrocklin, and Shalyn Coleman with their awards.

Nekayah Gray's bridge won 1st place for the 2nd year in a row with an efficiency of 1040. Her bridge was also one of only two bridges to win the Architectural Design Award. Shalyn Coleman's bridge placed 3rd with an efficiency of 711.

All students who place in the top 10 in the competition receive trophies and the school with the most points based on efficiencies of their top 4 bridges wins a plaque. There were a total of 67 qualifying bridges, 8 of them belonging to Butler County Middle School. Other students with qualifying bridges were: Hannah McClelland, Ellie Moore, Harlie VanMeter, Ivy Donaldson, Joseph Phillips, and Drake Kinkade. Congratulations to all involved in giving BCMS its 12th win out of the last 13 years.
